My current project is to map the war memorials in New Brunswick. By spatializing this information, we can more readily and easily begin to ask questions of why the memorials are placed where they are. It also enables the number of memorials to be more effectively realized.
THE GREAT FUTILITY DEBATE
The Great War has been rife with debate ever since its outbreak a hundred years ago. One of the most ferocious debates amongst historians has been whether or not the war had a purpose. This study looks at one volume histories of the Great War and examines that debate, arguing that this is primordial to understanding the conflict.
A (NOT SO) FORGOTTEN WAR
The bicentenary anniversaries of the War of 1812 are behind us and this conflict has garnered a lot of publicity in both Canada and the United States. The most prominent theme on both sides of the border is the concept of the War of 1812 as a nation building experience. For what side is this true? Or is it at all?
